Why You Should Avoid Public USB Charging Areas

On a trip, being in possession of a fully charged phone is almost essential. Whether for the trip itself or simply for entertainment, a charged phone remains the basis of a perfect trip. Only here, rare are the geniuses of everyday life who think to recharge their smartphone before their arrival at the station, or at the airport. A double problem, since charging your phone on a public USB port, is clearly something you should avoid.

Caleb Barlow, vice president of X-Force Threat Intelligence at IBM Security, spoke about the concern: “Getting connected to a public USB port is like finding a toothbrush on the side of the road and decide to put it in his mouth. You have no idea where this object has dragged. And remember that this USB port can transmit data. ”

Once your phone is plugged in, your data can be hacked. It is, therefore, necessary to avoid charging your phone via a public USB port. You should connect your phone only to electrical outlets to avoid data transfer.
